he is 2!

2 years ago on this day...


and today...


that is the birthday boy showing you how old he is. holding up a 1 on each hand is preferable to two fingers on the same hand. what can i say? he is a math genius!

you knew it was going to be a good day when all this is waiting on you before breakfast...


wes had to sit on his new ride and check it out before he ate. but at this point in the day, he refused to put his foot on the pedal. it was just a cool looking chair.


after he lined all his trucks up in a perfect line, it was time for an icing-covered turtle!


yum!


brother thought cake for breakfast was pretty awesome!


honey came to town mid-morning and treated the birthday boy to lunch at yummy yogurt. grilled cheese and ice cream...can't beat that!

after a little coaching once we got home, wes started to get the hang of the pedal. there is still a little work to do, but a tractor race with william in the cul-de-sac is now possible!


then, top that off with supper at our favorite mexican restaurant (so wes could have his fav "beans and wiiiiiiice") and a trip to baskin robbins.


all that fun makes for a pretty good birthday. as you can tell, the birthday boy agrees! as i tucked my 2 year old in bed tonight, he was quick to flash a smile and 2 my way!
