grammy museum

i have some music loving people at my house.  it doesn't matter what it is, but it's all good if it has a beat!  we run the gamut from motown to country to rock to hymns and everything in between!  so the last time that we were in the delta we took a trip over to cleveland to the grammy museum.  we all loved it, and we found out that we may need to get reed some drums!!

william wrote and recorded his own song...

we tried our hand on the instruments that we could play and those that we didn't have a clue as to what we were doing!!  and reed would have played those drums for hours if he could have!!

william got up from this sound bar with the revelation that "sam cooke is kinda good."  i didn't know it was possible to love him more!  :)

we topped it off with lunch at airport grocery!

if you like music at all or you need an excuse to go to the delta, give the grammy museum a try!  it won't disappoint!

8

reed turned 8 on the 9th.  he always loves a birthday!  this year he wanted all things golf, and he got his wish!!  his main wish was for his own push cart.  he was happy to try it out immediately, and it's gotten lots of use since then!!

we started off the day with blueberry muffins (his favorite) and donuts!

 trying out his new cart...

also on his list was a super stroke putter grip.  his brothers went in together and got that for him.

and of course we finished off the day at d'casa with chips, salsa, and cheese dip!

happy birthday, reed!!  can't wait to see what this year brings!

diamond kings

wes played with the diamond kings this year.  we traveled, but we didn't travel far.  that's the kind of travel team that i like.  we all slept in our own beds the entire season, so i call that winning!!  this was a sweet group of boys, but it was our first year of kid pitch.  the first year of kid pitch is really hard.  i think that 9 is too young to turn the pitcher's mound over to them, but nobody asked me.  nevertheless, he loved it!!

wes played 2nd and pitched some.  but his favorite place to be is on the base path!

it was fun while it lasted!  we root, root, rooted for the home team, and now we've moved on to golf!  no rest for the weary!
