qualifying camp

william and wes spent the week before qualifying at ridgeland at qualifying camp.  they look forward to this, and this year didn't disappoint.  they got to hang out with old friends and make a few new ones.

reed had his own qualifying camp at JCC, but i didn't get a picture.  it must have done some good, though, because he came home from qualifying with a few wins...and some new friends.

they also got to play golf with G that week.

and, william hit up the guitar store to mess around on their electric guitars.  he's hooked.

it was a fun week, and they are already ready for next year's camp.

awards day for william

awards day for william was a little different this year with the change of schools.  there are a lot more people, so they have to be efficient.  i did manage to get a pic as he crossed the stage, but i had to be quick!!  ha!  he had a great 7th grade year, and he's ready to see what 8th has in store!

he finished with awards for rotary scholar (top 30 in his class of 500), honor roll (all As all year), duke tip, perfect attendance, and the academic awards for advanced language arts and US history.

awards day for wes

wes actually skipped out on his awards day this year.  he didn't want to miss an already planned tennis camp out of town, so i have no pictures from the actual day.  however, he had a good showing even though he wasn't there!!

he ended up with the president's education award for outstanding academic excellence, the citizenship award for outstanding conduct, the computer award, the math award, the science award, basketball, reading counts, headmaster's honor roll (all As all year), perfect attendance, and the character trait of wisdom.  goodbye, 5th grade!

awards day for reed

so, i need to back up a few weeks to the very beginning of the summer.  better late than never!!  reed finished up the end of the year with awards day at school.  he had a great 3rd grade year with Mrs. Lansdell.  she is one of two teachers that all three boys have had, and we love her.  it's a little sad knowing that we are leaving her behind for good!

they don't give academic awards until 4th grade, so he finished up with awards in basketball, reading counts, computer, and music.  he made the headmaster's honor roll (all As all year), got the citizenship award for good conduct, and got the character trait of sensitivity.  he also got the fruit of the spirit award for his class.  good year, reed!!
