ivy league, here we come!

after our nightly walk around the neighborhood following supper, the little people came inside and ate dessert. while they were sitting at their table chowing down on jello, daddy was apparently stealing a bite or two here and there.

and wes decided to call him out on it by saying his first sentence ever:
"dada eat jewoh!"

clearly, he's headed straight for harvard!

lovin' the springtime

does anybody else shoo their kids outside now that it's so pretty (most of the time)? mine eat at least one meal a day outside on their picnic table, play out there all day, and would probably sleep out there if i'd let them.

and yes, the backyard is a disaster, but my house is now fairly clean. and...they have a boat to float down the river in. clearly, it can't get much better.

and then mama went downstairs and cried...

last night, wes said good-bye to the crib and hello to the big boy bed. as with most everything in his life, he really couldn't have cared less. it was like he'd been sleeping there forever. he said "night night" and slept from 8pm - 7am without a peep.

i told him today after lunch that it was naptime. he climbed right up in the bed, laid down on the pillow, pulled up the covers and said "bye bye." so i walked out. and he went to sleep.

i hope potty-training this kid is this easy!

boys' night out

this past week, the globetrotters came to town. chase decided to take william, and they had a blast. well...william had a blast! chase said it wasn't as exciting as when he was a kid. apparently, grown men running around in stars and stripes acting goofy while dribbling a ball isn't his cup of tea anymore!

but, the little one couldn't quit talking about it. he got home and could hardly go to sleep with all the "and you know what?" talk. he has since learned to dribble, and while he hasn't perfected it...he's quite adamant about lying down and trying to spin the ball on his tongue. (at least that's what i think he's doing.)

those tickets have been well worth the week of entertainment that i have received as a result. i can't wait until the next globetrotters session! and, i'm pretty sure there's a little person here who feels the same way!

we partied...

and then we partied some more!! this past weekend, we were a partying machine!

sara beth turned 3, and leigh turned 1! so, to help them celebrate, we put on our best party gear and headed out first thing in the morning to celebrate with sara beth. there was lots of pink, but that didn't stop either of my boys from joining in!

sara beth making a wish on her cupcake cake...

somehow, william managed to spill bobo's coffee all over him. so, he raided uncle zeb's closet for some new attire...

then play dough kept us occupied for the better part of an hour...

after naps, we went back out to brandon to celebrate with leigh. she didn't care much for her duck cake...

but these little people made up for it in the way they snarffed down duck cupcakes!

we had a blast! and to top it off, nobody threw up like they did last year. well, except for the littlest birthday girl...and aunt holly! but, it wasn't in my car. AND, i didn't have to clean up after them. so, i call that a good party!! i mean...parties!
