big day at our house

today marked a big day at our house.  this morning at church reed was recognized and received his award for reciting all 150 catechism questions.  he said them to the childrens' ce committee back in october, and we are all so proud of this accomplishment.  catechism is something that we have been working on for quite a while.  every morning in the car on the way to school, i would ask questions.  (i think i can ask all 150 in order without the book!)  reed listened to his big brothers go through the process, so the answers just kind of got burned in his brain over time!  he was the easiest of the three!  it's so nice to have a doctrinal basis to work from when they ask questions or we are explaining something.  and, wes is so happy that "we can finally just talk on the way to school in the mornings!"  so....way to go, reed!!

psalm 119:11 - i have hidden your word in my heart that i might not sin against you.

also, to add to the day, william and wes professed their faith in front of the church.  they went through the communicant's class and then went before the session last month and joined the church.  chase and i are very proud of them for claiming their faith as their own.

they each had to write out their favorite verses to share with the congregation.

wes - john 3:16 - for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life

william - 2 corinthians 5:21 - for he has made him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of god in him

good words.  proud mama.

So proud of him! Great minds think alike - that's when we learn ours too. And Langdon has done the same thing - blown me away with how fast he's picked up on them from listening to Mary Laine say hers.
