when they were little, i had all kinds of golf pictures from summer golf. this year, i do not! when they no longer need a caddie it makes it harder to get pictures. these guys get a medal here and there (reed actually won one tournament this summer), but i think they enjoy the lunch afterwards most of all!!
there must be something about southerns. as soon as the atmosphere hears that all the tennis players in the south are congregating in one place, it unleashes the rain. this year it rained off and on for forever and ever in little rock! we managed to have fun while we were there, and everybody got in the win column. plus, william played the governor of arkansas' grandson so we got to have bodyguards at a match for the first time ever. exciting stuff!!
we spent the very first week of summer in the smoky mountains! we had the perfect little cabin (with a hot tub) away from everything but still close enough to the park. we hiked and hiked, and we had a scary run-in with a bear when he jumped off of the wall right in front of us. it makes for a good story now....not so much at the moment! we spent one night in pigeon forge at a show. the show was good, but we realized that pigeon forge/gatlinburg is a lot like vegas.....no thank you!! we spent one rainy day underground at tuckaleechee caverns. we weren't quite sure what we were getting into, but it was impressive. the highlight was something that we have never done before...zip lining! we all loved it. it certainly won't be the last time we seek out the ziplines! it was a fun start to summer!
reed had a fun, yet quick year of park and rec baseball. the A's won more than they lost, and he showed out in the outfield a few times. but, he stayed behind the plate most of the time.
there is honestly nothing more boring than a piano recital full of kids that just started playing. i'm not knocking the beginners...everybody has to start somewhere! but, it can get long and painful waiting on your brother who is always the very last one to play!

but william does put on a show when it's finally his turn!
our high school team didn't need our help to pull out a state championship this year (ha!), but we were still glad to be a part of it! you never knew what the weather was going to be this spring, but lots of golf was played. and, then we got all spiffed up for the banquet to celebrate an awesome year!
