entertainer

 william was asked to entertain the crowd for 20 minutes before mrs. rish's piano recital.  he was a hit, as usual.  then he closed it out with a medley that he made up of a few popular songs.  it's always a good day when you get to hear him play music!

regional rehab tournament

 wes was called into action last minute for the regional rehab tournament.  arnaldo lost his partner last minute, so wes came to the rescue.  they played 4 matches, and then they walked away with some prize money!!  :)  super speedy baseline guy plus awesome hands at the net guy = 1st place!

team purple for the win

 the USTA came up with a new tournament format where they waterfall teams and then the teams play each other for points.  this was the first one that mississippi had ever held, and we tried it out.  somehow, all hensons ended up on the same team together.

reed and henry were clutch.  both were undefeated on the weekend in singles and doubles.  

william and elizabeth were undefeated, too.  (it helps when your partner is the #1 player in the south!)

national english honor society

 william was inducted into the national english honor society.  honor...yes.  the actual ceremony, however, was insane.  this one speaker (whose name i won't mention) got up there and declared himself "the top 1%," and if all of these kids would pay attention he would tell them how to become successful. he tooted his own horn for 20 minutes, and by the end i was texting with my friend and unable to contain my laughter any longer.  it was one of those times like when you start laughing in church and cannot control it.  chase was hissing at me to stop it, but he was completely entertained as well.  i mean, this guy wrote two books which were "stratospherically successful" and they were second only to the bible.  what?!? we for sure made it known that the little display that he put on was NOT how you were to address anyone ever!!  and also.....we won't be visiting his clinic anytime soon!  

but, way to go, smart kiddos!!

structure banquet

 we packed into first methodist with all of synergy and their parents for the showchoir banquet.  we celebrated a great season one last time, and the boys played one more time together.  

william was awarded the renaissance man award (because he can play all the things) and the bluesman award (for the most soulful performance of the year).  we are going to miss this group of guys being together next year, but we are so thankful that they entertained us so well!

rotary scholars

 william and wes both were named as rotary scholars this year....top 30 in their classes.  there are 500 in their class, so that's worth a round of applause!  we celebrated with all of the smart people with a few snacks and some recognition.
