TCPS Twilight

TCPS hosted their XC meet. It’s the hilliest course in the state, and everybody’s times are slower because of it. But, it was a really nice overcast evening for a race!

Whatchu lookin’ at?

This thing attacked me multiple times while I was in the yard one afternoon. I don’t know what he wanted, but when I stopped to take his picture, he looked right at me like I was crazy. Better than the snake that showed up…

Sigma Chi

William accepted a bid from Sigma Chi along with 75 others and has been making his way through pledgeship. We are excited for him to do the next 4 years with these guys!

The Trace

The Natchez Trace Golf Club isn’t the best around, but Tupelo figured out the slow greens and finished in 1st.

Cross country

Cross country season kicked off with a meet in New Albany.  Reed moved up to high school this year and therefore the 5K distance.  He finished 6th on his team (top 7 are scorers), so he got to "count" which was pretty fun! TCPS finished 2nd.  Myrtle is going to be tough to beat this year.  We might just have to be happy with silver for now!

Meal prepping

Reed said he was going to do something instead of eating PBandJ sandwiches every day for lunch, so he made a grocery list and decided to meal prep for the week.  We will see how long this lasts!!  I'm going to keep the PBandJ stocked anyway!

Retreat

TCPS goes on a retreat every year at the beginning of the year to kick off the school year.  These are the only pictures I have from that day.  Remind me not to get in a canoe with Reed and his friends.  I don't think they are very good at canoeing.

Golf season has begun

Golf season has begun.  I have to admit that I didn't love the idea of driving to Nashville, playing a 6 hour round of golf (this is what happens when girls play in the same tournament....don't get any of us started on that disaster), and then driving home.  However, Wes shot his first under par round ever at Greystone Golf Club, so it was good day!

FDOC

Everybody started at different times, but I managed to get a first day of class picture of everyone.  I believe I have the cousin to thank for the college one!

Move in

It was like a reverse fishes and loaves situation for dorm move in.  Once we got all the gear into the hallway, we had no idea how in the world we were going to get it in the room.  But, we made it work, and all the instruments and amps have their places!  And mama will not be going back, so she can just pretend that it still looks exactly like it did this day!  Happy Freshman Year!

Thankful for the extra help from the brothers!  They were awesome!

Birthday boy

We celebrated William's 19th birthday a little early since he was going to be gone on the day of.  He requested fried catfish, and his brothers loaded him down with gifts.  Super proud of this kid, and we look forward to what's in store!

Cory Wong Syncopated Summer Camp

William didn't want to go to the beach like everyone else for his senior trip.  Instead, he chose to play music from 9am-midnight for a week in Nashville with some of his musical heroes.  They said they do it again in a heartbeat!

Joe Dart

Theo Katzman

And of course he found a guitar shop to spend an hour or so trying out all the things...

Last hoorah

Reed hit the road with his best friends to spend the last weekend of summer on the Ocoee.  I don't think they slept at all, but they managed to make it down the river while only losing one out of the raft.  But, it wasn't for long.  Apparently their guide was a he-woman and snatched him back in one armed in no time!!

The end of summer golf

Coke tour came to an end the day before school started at Starkville Country Club.  Wes finished 3rd on the tour overall with a good two day finish in Starkville.  Next up....the first school tournament at Tunica.  Bring on junior year!
