when school was out, we headed to chattanooga for a few days. the only times that i have been to chattanooga, i was playing tennis, so it was nice to actually see the place this time! it is beautiful, the temps were perfect, no mosquitos, and they are right on the time line, so it was light until 9pm. i could get used to that! we packed as much in as you possibly could!
no road trip is complete without cracker barrel, right?
spinning in the hotel chair. it's the little things...
the pedestrian bridge across the tennessee river...
checking out the parks on the other side...
cardboard sledding as renaissance park...
of course the highlight was swimming in the hotel pool with hot chocolate by the fire every night.
we rode up the incline railway...
checked out the view from the top...
we headed over to point park and learned a little civil war history.
we found a great little hole in the wall mexican place for lunch! (and since we are tourists, we took a picture!)
then we headed over to rock city...
then on to ruby falls...
(i couldn't get my camera to cooperate inside the cave. i guess it doesn't like wet, cold, and dark places. this was the best i could do!)
more swimming...
the mississippi braves were playing the chattanooga lookouts while we were there, so went to a game. i do love minor league games. they are so entertaining. plus, we got free tickets, free food, and free drinks. good night for us!
we checked out the aquarium...
hit up the imax theater...
i'm sure this place has a name, but we just called them the water steps. my people spotted these the first night we were there, so we had to make a time for playing at the water steps!
more food...
and by the end....we all felt like this.
next summer....we'll conquer yellowstone! ha!
