veteran's program

william played at school for the veteran's program.  he did a fantastic job on a really hard arrangement of battle hymn of the republic/america the beautiful.  i didn't get a good recording, but he didn't play the entire piece.  i told him to get the whole thing for his recital so i could record it.  but, i did get a picture! best looking pianist that i know!

loser

several weeks ago, we all got a flu shot.  we always play the game to see who can show the least emotion, and every year we have the same loser.  we always think that THIS is going to be the year.  but, considering that chase had to go chase him down the hall to get him to the chair to get his shot.....

maybe next year will be THE year!

football season

well, football season has arrived again.  as mississippi state fans, we know all the highs and lows that come with each season.  by heart.  and, we lived them all over again this season decked out in our maroon and white each weekend!

the lsu game was nuts, and the campus was soooooo crowded.  we finally found a quiet spot on the drill field!

it's not common to be able to celebrate an absolute drumming of lsu!!  we'll certainly take it!!

we had some space beside us for the kentucky game, so honey came and joined us for a bit!

the camp house became our favorite spot to go pre or post game!

the blackout game meant "wear your cowboys gear" at our house!

and then it all went south for the egg bowl.  we were happy at the beginning with our non-traditional thanksgiving supper at bulldog burger with mr. ronnie!

and we were even warm in the 30 degree temps.  (wes: "mama, you made me wear so many clothes that i can't even tell what the temperature is out here!)

but then we sat through the game looking like this.  what a disaster!!  we lost our quarterback, the egg, and then a few days later.....our coach!

oh well.  such is the life of a mississippi state fan.  it was a fun season, but we are happy for the break!  looking forward to next year and what our new coach can bring to davis wade.  go dawgs!

straight As

(a little late, but better than never)

when you make straight As for the first 9 weeks, you get.....strange brew!!  they thoroughly enjoyed their butter beer, albino squirrels, and blueberry muffins!

here's to hoping we get to go back after the 2nd 9 weeks!

muffins for mom

i had the privilege of "eating" breakfast before school with these three at muffins for mom a few weeks ago.  we don't usually go because this mom doesn't like muffins, and they all know this!  but this year, they wanted to go, so i went.  the fare actually consisted of donuts which i don't care for either......but, they LOVE them!  so, we started off the day with donuts and smiles!  i guess that means we'll be back next year!

halloween

this year, we had a cowboys fan, dak prescott, and a referee!  i didn't get a picture of all of them together before the night started, but i got the referee before they went out hunting for candy!

this was post trick or treating, and everybody has 3/4 of their costume on.  it's the best i could do.  they are hard to keep up with these days!

fall tennis

we have a played a little tennis this fall in between soccer games and trips to starkville.  reed actually got in on the action.  he did not win his first attempt at the sport, so he was not too happy.  but, he was ready to go again as soon as it was over!!  however, when this is your pre-match routine....i'm not too sure how much you should really expect!!  ha!!

his brothers were slightly more successful!

but he did get a taste of winning at a tournament in oxford a few weeks later!  he teamed up with his buddy, walker, from cleveland.  they had a blast all weekend....on the court and off!

we had a few fans at the river hills tournament!

and we finished it up at reunion.  it was fuh-reezing in the mornings, but it was perfect by the afternoon.  wes and william both made new friends (and doubles partners)....maxwell and ross!  i think we will be pairing up with these guys again!  making it to the finals isn't all that bad, though neither wes nor ross was all that happy!

this weekend finished up with reed managing to lock himself in the bathroom.  it was a single room, and he was freaking out.  i'm surprised all courts near the clubhouse didn't call lets for the disturbance.  we had to talk to him through the door to get him to step away from the edge and calm down in order to get him to unlock the door.  goodness.  it's definitely time for a break!  good thing basketball season is right around the corner!!
